Sr Project Manager, Financial Analysis
Overview
You will own financial analysis engagements for a Chicago-based client, covering scope, timelines, budgets, and analytical details end-to-end. This hands-on role sits within a cross-functional team of analysts and engineers, reporting directly to the executive sponsor. You bring executive presence to command the room, while personally diving into the weeds of every deliverable without leaning on others. What You'll Do8
- 1Drive project scope, schedules, and budgets for financial analysis workstreams in the first 90 days
- 2Own the delivery of weekly status reports and financial model updates to C-level stakeholders
- 3Lead cross-functional standups with Excel and SQL for data pulls and variance analysis
- 4Coordinate with internal teams to align on milestone dependencies and remove blockers
- 5Produce executive-ready deliverables with PowerPoint and Power BI dashboards
- 6Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions and document decisions in Confluence
- 7Track risks, assumptions, and issues, escalating with mitigation plans as needed
- 8Deliver a comprehensive project playbook for the remaining engagement phases
Requirements7
- 18+ years in project management, with 3+ years leading financial analysis or data-heavy projects
- 2Hands-on proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, VBA)
- 3Strong SQL skills for querying relational databases
- 4Proven ability to create executive presentations in PowerPoint
- 5Experience with Power BI or equivalent data visualization tools
- 6PMP or Agile certification preferred
- 7Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
