
Project Analyst, IT Financial Forecasting
Overview
As a Project Analyst on our IT team, you will own the financial health of technology projects, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control. You will partner with Project and Resource Managers, using Excel and Jira to track budgets, approve time, and analyze variances. Your work prevents budget overruns and keeps projects on schedule. This role offers direct exposure to IT operations and project governance.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and maintain project financial forecasts, updating Excel models weekly.
- 2Approve timesheets in Jira and reconcile discrepancies with Resource Managers.
- 3Analyze project costs monthly, identifying budget variances and flagging risks.
- 4Drive the quarterly planning cycle by compiling cost data and generating reports.
- 5Partner with Project Managers to track milestones and adjust forecasts in SAP.
- 6Ship a monthly financial dashboard for IT leadership, highlighting trends.
- 7Debug forecast errors and refine allocation models for accuracy.
- 8Own the close process for project accounting, verifying charges in Workday.
Requirements6
- 13+ years experience as a project analyst, financial analyst, or in IT finance.
- 2Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, scenario modeling.
- 3Experience with Jira for time tracking and issue management.
- 4Familiarity with SAP or Workday for financial reporting.
- 5Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- 6Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
