Sr Physician Billing Associate
Overview
Lead the end-to-end management of physician billing operations at Boston Children's Hospital. Oversee claim submissions and resolutions while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards. Provide expert guidance to a multidisciplinary team in delivering precise financial services.
What You'll Do11
- 1Review and verify patient demographic and insurance details using technology and external resources
- 2Partner with leadership and staff to gather necessary information for resolving billing discrepancies
- 3Prepare and file accurate insurance claims and appeals within mandated timelines
- 4Follow up on denials and appeals until full resolution
- 5Accept and reconcile claim runs while processing payer response documentation
- 6Audit guarantor overpayments following department protocols
- 7Address inquiries from patients and stakeholders via phone and written communication
- 8Train new hires on billing systems and workflow procedures
- 9Identify systemic billing inefficiencies and implement corrective actions
- 10Maintain meticulous accuracy during high-volume daily task execution
- 11Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance billing efficiency
Requirements9
- 15+ years in multi-specialty physician billing or comparable medical billing roles
- 2Strong understanding of insurance benefit structures and payer processes
- 3Proficiency in electronic claims platforms and remittance advice systems
- 4Experience with clearinghouse operations and electronic payment processing
- 5Knowledge of medical authorization requirements
- 6Excellent analytical abilities and organizational skills
- 7Ability to operate autonomously with collaborative teamwork
