Sourcing Manager, Confectionery & Packaged Consumables
Overview
You will own sourcing and product development for the confectionery and packaged consumables category across domestic Theme Parks & Resorts. You'll drive supplier strategy and product innovation for Disney-branded merchandise. Working with Product Design and Merchandising, you'll shepherd products from concept through Final Line Review. This role requires deep expertise in candy/confectionery and a passion for delivering magic.
What You'll Do10
- 1Develop short and long-range supplier strategies with Merchandise Strategy and Product Development teams.
- 2Complete annual Supplier Scorecards and lead business planning reviews with suppliers.
- 3Drive sourcing initiatives: sustainability, cost control, supplier diversification, and innovation.
- 4Identify new product opportunities and drive material recommendations for sustainable packaging.
- 5Partner with Product Design to finalize packaging, labeling, and costing by launch dates.
- 6Oversee sampling, approvals, and monitor progress against milestones with weekly status updates.
- 7Track production and delivery timeliness with Supply Chain Intelligence and Logistics teams.
- 8Lead supplier meetings, including evening calls to accommodate global time zones.
- 9Build strong partnerships with internal teams and suppliers to drive results.
- 10Supervise data entry tasks: item setups, financial roadmaps, and invoicing.
Requirements9
- 17-10+ years progressive experience in product development, merchandising, or sourcing, with direct confectionery industry experience.
- 2Demonstrated success managing confectionery products from concept to commercialization.
- 3Substantial experience sourcing and developing candy/confectionery across forms and formats.
- 4Strong knowledge of commodities markets, ingredient inputs, flavor development, and packaging.
- 5Understanding of confectionery packaging production: paperboard, flexible packaging, and seasonal gifting.
- 6Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- 7Negotiation, financial acumen, and strategic thinking to execute margin goals.
- 8Ability to manage multiple SKUs and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- 9Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
