SME Systems Administrator, DHS Mission Critical IT & Cloud
Overview
Lead enterprise IT operations and secure systems for 24/7 DHS mission support at scale across multiple locations. Own LAN/WAN, AD, virtualization, and COOP/DR readiness while collaborating with government and vendor partners. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, servers, SANs, and network devices to ensure high availability
- 2Design and administer Active Directory including domain controller promotion, DNS/DHCP troubleshooting, GPO management, and automation scripting
- 3Plan and deploy COOP and DR capabilities with government and vendor partners to ensure redundancy and failover readiness
- 4Patch and update servers and workstations maintaining security baselines per DHS and FISMA standards
- 5Apply security hardening and vulnerability remediation coordinating with the ISSO for ATO processes
- 6Administer virtualization and storage platforms including VMware ESXi/vCenter, Nutanix, and NetApp storage
- 7Assist with Palo Alto firewall deployment and rule migration to support segmentation and HA
- 8Configure Cisco/Dell switches and support VPN tunnels and IP transition projects
- 9Support lab environments for patch validation and COOP simulations
- 10Maintain technical documentation and SOPs in CALEA repositories
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field OR 5+ years of equivalent experience
- 210+ years enterprise IT systems and network administration experience
- 3Proficiency in Active Directory DNS DHCP GPO management PowerShell or Bash scripting
- 4Experience with VMware Nutanix NetApp Windows Server and Linux system management
- 5Server/workstation patching, security remediation, and ATO coordination with ISSO
- 6Experience with Cisco/Dell networking and Palo Alto firewalls
- 7Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- 8Ability to work independently in high-pressure, mission-critical environments
- 9Preferred: federal law enforcement IT support COOP/DR site design
- 10Preferred: Kubernetes knowledge and lab/testing experience
