Overview
Own and operate enterprise cloud infrastructure at scale in a contract role within a government-adjacent environment. You will design, implement, and maintain cloud and on-premises systems across Windows AD, DNS, Group Policy, and firewall configurations. Collaborate with security, networking, and dev-ops teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and well-documented solutions. This role emphasizes automation, patch management, and credentialed access control.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain secure Windows server and AD infrastructure supporting LOB applications
- 2Design and implement Azure cloud solutions with strong focus on identity, access, and security controls
- 3Automate operational tasks using PowerShell and shell scripting to reduce manual effort
- 4Configure and manage Group Policy deployments and firewall rules to ensure policy compliance
- 5Troubleshoot and patch Linux and Windows platforms (SUSE, RedHat, CentOS) to maintain system integrity
- 6Collaborate with networking and security teams to harden environments and monitor for anomalies
- 7Document procedures, runbooks, and change controls to enable auditable operations
- 8Lead incident response and remediation efforts for cloud and on-prem systems
- 9Mentor junior engineers and contribute to mature enterprise IT practices
- 10Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity exercises
Requirements9
- 15+ years of experience in an IT enterprise System Admin role or Cloud Admin position
- 24+ years with PowerShell or bash scripting for automation
- 3Experience with Group Policy for deployments
- 4Experience with Firewalls
- 5Expert level Microsoft Azure Administrator
- 6Senior level Windows admin skills (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy)
- 7Experience troubleshooting and patching with the platforms: SUSE, RedHat or CentOS
- 8Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC as required
- 9Strong communication and documentation capabilities
