Systems Administrator Associate - IT Infrastructure
Overview
You will own the reliability of enterprise systems for a U.S. intelligence customer in Springfield, VA, supporting 5,000+ users. You will join the GDIT infrastructure team, working on Windows Server, Linux, and VMware platforms. This role offers hands-on experience with Active Directory, SCCM, and PowerShell automation. You will directly support mission-critical operations from day one, with a path to TS/SCI clearance.
What You'll Do9
- 1Resolve Windows and Linux system issues for end users, ensuring uptime across 200+ servers.
- 2Deploy OS updates and patches using SCCM and WSUS, maintaining security compliance.
- 3Configure Active Directory accounts, group policies, and permissions to ensure access control.
- 4Monitor system performance with SolarWinds and Nagios, tuning configurations for optimal throughput.
- 5Execute backup and disaster recovery procedures using Veeam and Rubrik, verifying data integrity.
- 6Audit hardware and software inventories against CIS benchmarks, documenting deviations.
- 7Automate routine tasks with PowerShell and Bash scripts, reducing manual effort.
- 8Support virtualization environments on VMware and Hyper-V, provisioning and managing VMs.
- 9Collaborate with network and security teams to resolve cross-domain issues and maintain firewall rules.
Requirements7
- 10-2 years of experience in IT support or system administration, acquired through technical training, certification, or degree.
- 2Proficiency in operating systems like Windows Server and Linux (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu).
- 3Hands-on experience with hardware setup, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
- 4Knowledge of server management, software updates, and security best practices.
- 5Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- 6Eligibility to obtain TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
- 7U.S. Citizenship required.
