Signage Programmer, Architectural Drawings & ADA Compliance
Overview
You will own the signage programming process from day one, translating architectural drawings into compliant, accurate signage scopes and estimates for high-visibility projects. You will work with Adobe Illustrator and CAD tools to place signage directly on floor plans, applying ADA standards and brand guidelines. You will collaborate with Business Development, Design, and Production to ensure clarity and feasibility. This role stands out because you will directly impact compliance and cost accuracy, with the autonomy to solve complex wayfinding challenges.
What You'll Do9
- 1Review customer-supplied architectural and construction drawings, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations, to identify all required interior signage.
- 2Place and annotate signage directly onto floor plans using Adobe Illustrator, ensuring accurate location, quantity, and sign type representation.
- 3Develop comprehensive signage schedules that account for circulation paths, wayfinding logic, room identification, regulatory signage, and brand requirements.
- 4Apply ADA standards and relevant state and local codes to ensure all interior signage meets compliance requirements.
- 5Interpret and apply client brand standards consistently across full signage programs.
- 6Utilize a signage quotation or estimating system to build accurate, property-wide signage packages and cost estimates.
- 7Identify scope gaps, conflicts, or compliance risks and proactively communicate findings and recommended solutions.
- 8Support revisions, alternates, and value-engineering efforts as project requirements evolve.
- 9Collaborate closely with Business Development, Design, Account Project Management, and Production teams to ensure clarity and alignment from quotation through execution.

- 1Proven experience reading and interpreting architectural and construction drawings.
- 2Strong working knowledge of ADA signage requirements and applicable state and local regulations for interior signage.
- 3Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for placing and documenting signage on floor plans.
- 4Experience applying brand standards within signage, wayfinding, or architectural environments.
- 5Comfort working with quotation, estimating, or cost-building systems.
- 6Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- 7Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- 8Preferred: background in signage, wayfinding, architectural graphics, or environmental branding.
- 9Preferred: experience creating signage schedules and full property-wide signage scopes.
- 10Preferred: understanding of signage materials, fabrication methods, and installation considerations.
