Architectural Designer - Restaurant Space Planning
Overview
Own space planning for a global restaurant brand's new development and remodel projects, touching 100+ locations annually. You will shape floor plans, elevations, and architectural details using AutoCAD, collaborating with vendors and contractors to ensure designs meet ADA standards and company guidelines. Join a tight-knit team of architects and designers in Chicago, reporting to the Design Manager. What You'll Do7
- 1Create, update, and revise floor plans, elevations, and architectural details using AutoCAD for new restaurant construction and renovation projects.
- 2Develop space plans that improve customer flow and employee efficiency, integrating equipment layouts and kitchen designs.
- 3Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align service areas and operational spaces with brand standards.
- 4Review shop drawings and collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure constructability and compliance.
- 5Ensure all designs comply with ADA requirements and company standards across multiple project phases.
- 6Provide architectural detailing and redlines throughout project execution, maintaining drawing accuracy.
- 7Support the transition from concept to construction by producing clear, buildable documentation.
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
- 22+ years of AutoCAD experience in a professional setting.
- 3Experience supporting commercial, retail, restaurant, or hospitality building projects.
- 4Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents.
- 5Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- 6Proficiency in AutoCAD for space planning and detailing.
