Shop Lead, Vehicle Detailing at ADESA Sanford
Overview
Own the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle detail shop at a major ADESA location. Lead Detailer I and II, ensuring weekly production goals are met and quality standards exceed customer expectations at scale. Partner with Reconditioning Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver on time and within budgets. This role offers a path to broader leadership as we grow our network and inventory.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead, manage, and hold detail shop staff accountable for daily performance, quality, and productivity.
- 2Oversee staffing, training, and labor hour management while providing regular performance feedback and engagement to team members.
- 3Drive detail shop operations to optimize productivity and profitability, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- 4Monitor and maintain shop equipment and facility in good working order; order and maintain necessary supplies.
- 5Implement and ensure all safety policies are followed, completing safety audits and inspections.
- 6Run reports to monitor inventory levels and post vehicle detail completions to customer accounts.
- 7Communicate with other departments to prepare for production flow and coordinate upcoming deadlines.
- 8Monitor and ensure compliance with customer contracts regarding vehicle detail completion and quality.
- 9Cascade company and customer directives while promoting positive employee relations and morale.
- 10Perform any other duties assigned by the designated manager.
Requirements5
- 1Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience and 2 years of automotive experience
- 2Prior leadership experience is highly preferred, with a proven ability to manage direct reports and hold them accountable
- 3Auction and vehicle detailing experience is preferred
- 4High School diploma or GED required
- 5Proficiency with computer systems, applications, and managing metrics against targets
