Shift Leader, Quick Service Restaurant
Overview
As Shift Leader at NAYA, you will own the full guest experience, from line speed to food quality, across a fast-growing Middle Eastern concept in New York City. Working directly with the General Manager, you will drive daily operations, coach a team of 8-15, and uphold standards that keep every pita wrap and salad bowl consistent. You will master labor management and COGS, reconcile cash, and handle catering orders. What You'll Do9
- 1Drive store profitability by tracking sales, controlling labor, and managing cost of goods to hit daily targets.
- 2Oversee preparation and service of all food and beverage items to meet NAYA recipes, portioning, and quality standards.
- 3Build daily shift schedules, adjust clock in/out times based on sales volume, and review time punches to correct discrepancies.
- 4Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate expectations, share guest feedback, and celebrate team wins.
- 5Coach and train team members in food safety, customer service, and station procedures, preparing them for advancement.
- 6Resolve guest complaints on the spot, and respond to online reviews to protect NAYA's reputation.
- 7Execute catering and third-party orders with precision, ensuring on-time delivery and complete accuracy.
- 8Complete cash counts, deposits, and reconciliation, and monitor discounts and promotions for compliance.
- 9Open and close the store following NAYA's procedures, from unlocking to final walkthrough and alarm set.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of leadership experience in a fast-casual or full-service restaurant.
- 2Proven ability to manage labor schedules, inventory, and cash handling procedures.
- 3Strong verbal and written communication in English, with a professional demeanor under pressure.
- 4Adaptable in a high-volume environment, able to prioritize tasks and pivot as business needs change.
- 5Exhibits positive leadership that motivates teams to meet and exceed standards.
- 6Proficient with Gmail, Microsoft Office, and POS systems; ability to learn new software quickly.
- 7Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as required.
- 8Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly and standing/walking for 8-10 hours per day.
