As Shift Leader at NAYA, you own the full shift: driving sales, controlling labor and COGS, and ensuring every guest leaves happy. You lead a team of 5-10 in a fast-casual Middle Eastern concept in New York, reporting to the General Manager. You balance operational excellence with people development, from coaching to conflict resolution. What You'll Do10
- 1Drive shift profitability by managing sales, labor, and cost of goods, using financial tools to adjust in real time.
- 2Lead the team through service, ensuring all food and beverage items meet NAYA's recipes, portioning, and quality standards.
- 3Create and adjust daily shift schedules to match sales volume, managing clock-ins and time punches.
- 4Oversee ordering, monthly inventory, and stock control for food, equipment, and supplies.
- 5Control cash and receipts through adherence to cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
- 6Hire, train, coach, and evaluate team members alongside the General Manager, fostering a positive environment.
- 7Conduct pre-shift meetings to set expectations, share guest feedback, and celebrate wins.
- 8Resolve guest issues with a solutions-focused approach, building relationships and managing online reviews.
- 9Execute catering and third-party orders with attention to on-time delivery and accuracy.
- 10Ensure store opening and closing procedures are followed, including cash deposits and incident reports.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of leadership experience in a fast-casual or similar restaurant concept.
- 2Proficiency in spoken and written English for essential job duties.
- 3Strong communication skills with the ability to give and take direction under pressure.
- 4Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with a sense of ownership.
- 5Positive leadership traits that inspire team members to meet and exceed standards.
- 6Ability to use Gmail, Microsoft Office, and POS systems.
- 7Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- 8Physical ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand or walk for 8-10 hours per day.
