Senior Veterinarian, DVM & Surgical Care
Overview
Own medical care for a state-of-the-art Boston veterinary hospital, driving outcomes for 5,000+ annual patient visits. Collaborate with a team of Veterinarians and support staff, reporting to the Regional Operations Manager. This role grows into Director of Operations, managing multi-site facilities. What You'll Do8
- 1Examine and diagnose diseases and injuries in dogs and cats, then treat surgically or medically.
- 2Collaborate within the veterinary ecosystem, communicating with referring vets and specialists.
- 3Lead ongoing education and training, staying current with surgical and medical advances.
- 4Partner with the Regional Operations Manager and Hospital Manager to hit high care standards.
- 5Administer core vaccinations and counsel clients on wellness plans.
- 6Perform dental cleanings and extractions using digital radiography.
- 7Build a positive workplace culture for staff, clients, and pets.
- 8Master time management and task prioritization in a high-volume clinical setting.
Requirements8
- 1Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- 25+ years of clinical experience in a veterinary hospital setting.
- 3Eligible for Massachusetts State Veterinary License.
- 4Strong surgical skills in soft tissue and orthopedic procedures.
- 5Proven ability to lead a veterinary team and mentor junior staff.
- 6Excellent client communication and medical record documentation.
- 7Comfort with digital imaging and electronic medical records (EMR).
- 8Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, as the hospital expands to 7 days.
Salary Insight
