Overview
Lead senior technical direction and mentorship for bridge and structural engineering staff. Drive complex structural analysis and design for vehicular pedestrian and low-volume bridges. Own quality review and coordinate cross-functional teams. Differentiate through deep expertise in modern bridge codes and practical constructible solutions.
What You'll Do11
- 1Provide senior technical direction and mentorship for bridge design rehabilitation replacement inspection load rating projects
- 2Lead structural analysis and design using steel prestressed concrete reinforced concrete timber and modular bridge systems
- 3Develop and review calculations plans specifications cost estimates inspection reports load rating packages and construction submittals
- 4Apply AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and agency standards to ensure compliance and constructibility
- 5Coordinate design with roadway hydraulics geotechnical survey environmental and construction teams
- 6Support Engineer of Record technical reviewer or senior advisor roles based on licensure and project needs
- 7Guide bridge type selection alternative evaluations constructability reviews value engineering and risk identification
- 8Perform or oversee field assessments bridge inspections condition evaluations and construction observation activities
- 9Implement DJ&A QA/QC procedures and contribute to high-quality structural engineering outcomes
- 10Mentor engineers by providing technical guidance design review feedback and professional growth support
- 11Collaborate with remote dispersed teams while meeting tight deadlines
Requirements11
- 1B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis on structures
- 215+ years of related structural bridge engineering experience
- 3Professional Engineer Registration (P.E.)
- 4Structural Engineer Registration (S.E.)
- 5NBIS bridge inspection qualifications or load rating experience
- 6Experience with bridge projects in remote rural mountainous or environmentally sensitive sites
- 7Knowledge of federal state and local bridge design standards and construction documentation requirements
- 8Proficiency with structural analysis/design tools such as MicroStation AutoCAD Civil 3D OpenBridge BrR LEAP Mathcad BRASS
- 9Demonstrated ability to develop bridge type studies rehabilitation recommendations and practical design solutions
- 10Experience working with public sector clients including federal state municipal tribal and local agencies
- 11Strong communication and leadership skills for cross-functional coordination
