Senior Storage & Cloud Solutions Engineer
Overview
You will own the design, implementation, and support of enterprise storage and cloud solutions across large customer environments, with ONTAP at the core. You will work directly with customers, translate requirements into architecture, and drive projects from kickoff to completion. This role blends deep technical expertise with customer-facing problem solving, giving you direct impact on outcomes. You will operate with autonomy while collaborating with a team of engineers to tackle complex challenges.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and deploy ONTAP storage clusters, including FAS and AFF systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
- 2Lead migration projects for on-premises workloads to AWS and Azure, using tools like Cloud Volumes ONTAP.
- 3Partner with customers to define storage architecture, capacity planning, and disaster recovery strategies.
- 4Troubleshoot performance issues and data protection failures, using ONTAP System Manager and CLI.
- 5Automate repetitive storage tasks with Ansible or PowerShell scripts to reduce manual error.
- 6Deliver technical documentation and runbooks for operations teams to hand off support.
- 7Collaborate with NetApp support to resolve complex cases and optimize environment health.
- 8Provide after-hours support for critical incidents and planned maintenance windows.
Requirements8
- 15+ years engineering enterprise storage with NetApp ONTAP in production environments.
- 2Hands-on with FAS and AFF hardware, including shelf expansion and controller upgrades.
- 3Experience with SAN protocols (FC, iSCSI) and NAS protocols (NFS, SMB).
- 4Strong knowledge of SnapMirror, SnapVault, and SnapCenter for backup and replication.
- 5Familiarity with cloud storage services on AWS or Azure, including S3 and Azure Blob.
- 6Scripting ability in Python or PowerShell for automation and API integration.
- 7Certification such as NCDA or NCSIE is highly desirable.
- 8Ability to manage multiple priorities in a customer-facing environment.
