Overview

You will own Translational Sciences for HAYA's RNA-guided genome-targeting therapies, driving preclinical studies from design to IND submission. Reporting to the VP of Translational Science, you will lead cross-functional teams and external CROs to advance HTX-001 toward the clinic for nHCM. This role sits at the intersection of science, strategy, and operations, shaping the development path of first-in-class lncRNA therapies. What You'll Do9

  • 1Lead planning, design, and oversight of preclinical studies with CROs, driving programs from concept to completion within 90 days.
  • 2Design and review study protocols and reports, including IND-enabling and GLP documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • 3Drive the Request For Quotation process for CRO assessment and selection, ensuring vendor quality and cost alignment.
  • 4Manage project timelines and critical path activities using Tiger Light software, reporting variances to leadership.
  • 5Build and manage translational budgets, tracking spending against milestones to support portfolio decisions.
  • 6Contribute to Board of Directors materials, presenting translational progress and risks quarterly.
  • 7Act as primary contact for external vendors and consultants, resolving issues to keep studies on track.
  • 8Collaborate with clinical and internal teams to align translational data with development needs.
  • 9Mentor and manage direct reports, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and accountability.

Requirements8

  • 1PhD in health sciences or equivalent; Master's degree considered with industry experience.
  • 23+ years (5 preferred) managing translational science activities globally.
  • 3Proven track record in a project team environment, contributing to development candidate nomination and IND-enabling research.
  • 4Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles and industry standards.
  • 5Demonstrated experience managing project teams and third-party contractors.
  • 6Exposure to RNA therapeutics research/development or cardiovascular/renal/hepatic/pulmonary/oncology disease interventions.
  • 7Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and contingency planning.
  • 8Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
