What You'll Do11
- 1Own EPC contractor engineering design and construction for high voltage substations and transmission lines
- 2Establish and maintain relationships with high voltage contractors
- 3Review substation designs for compliance with interconnection agreements and reliability standards
- 4Provide design review and advice on technical issues
- 5Coordinate power system studies including load flows and short circuits
- 6Direct coordination with Interconnection Providers to meet transmission requirements
- 7Coordinate Generation Tie line or Transmission line design with internal stakeholders
- 8Support substation commissioning by reviewing apparatus testing
- 9Work with cross-functional teams including real estate permitting and construction
- 10Travel 25% to support projects across the country focusing on western locations
- 11Lead technical discussions among HV EPCs utilities and internal stakeholders
Requirements9
- 1B.S. Electrical Engineering or higher with emphasis on Power Systems
- 27+ years of technical design experience including substation and transmission line design
- 3Proficiency in reading control schematics for HV breakers and main transformers
- 4PE Licensure in Arizona California Hawaii Nevada or Utah
- 5Experience with ETAP PSLF PSS/E or PLS-CADD
- 6Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions
- 74+ years of project engineering experience in HV related roles
- 8Experience managing HV EPCs and technical packages such as IFPs and IFCs
- 9Knowledge of grid integration requirements for renewables and power system modeling
