Senior Electrical Engineer, Industrial Power Systems
Overview
You will lead engineering teams designing complex industrial power distribution and utility infrastructure. Your work spans 480V to 138kV systems across petrochemical, water, and renewable markets. You will own technical deliverables from concept through commissioning, directly supporting field activities and mentoring junior staff. This role connects deep engineering rigor with hands-on site work at Saber Power Services, where safety is the core value.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead electrical engineering design for industrial, utility, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
- 2Design and oversee medium and high-voltage electrical systems, including 480V, 5kV, 15kV, 25kV, 34.5kV, and 138kV.
- 3Develop and review one-line diagrams, grounding systems, conduit layouts, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and electrical details.
- 4Perform load calculations, voltage drop studies, short circuit studies, coordination studies, arc flash studies, and system modeling using SKM, ETAP, EasyPower.
- 5Lead physical substation design and coordination, including protective relay applications and relay settings.
- 6Coordinate with vendors on equipment specifications and technical requirements.
- 7Lead field investigations and existing condition assessments for retrofit and brownfield projects.
- 8Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs during construction phases.
- 9Support construction, startup, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- 10Mentor junior engineers and designers on project teams.
Requirements8
- 115-20 years of professional experience in industrial electrical engineering, consulting, or utility infrastructure.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 3Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
- 4Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, API standards.
- 5Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower or similar engineering software.
- 6Experience with protective relays and SEL relay systems preferred.
- 7Hands-on experience with brownfield projects, retrofits, and field investigations.
- 8Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff.
