Senior Health Benefits Consultant, Large Employer Accounts
Overview
You will own complex client engagements for employers with 2000+ lives, directing strategy, plan design, and financial evaluations for medical, dental, life, and disability programs. As the subject matter expert, you will negotiate with carriers and vendors, manage revenue and profitability, and generate new sales. You will lead a client team, setting roles and monitoring project success against scope, budget, and satisfaction. This role stands apart through direct carrier negotiation and a revenue-owning mandate in a hybrid structure at Mercer's San Francisco office.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead complex client engagements, managing end-to-end service delivery for 10+ large market accounts.
- 2Design sophisticated benefits and renewal strategies, creating tools and solutions for complex issues in healthcare and disability plans.
- 3Define the full scope of client services and set team roles within the account team.
- 4Communicate Mercer's position on industry trends to clients, using data from Mercer and Marsh.
- 5Own revenue and profitability for assigned accounts and projects, tracking scope, budget, and timeliness.
- 6Monitor project success against client satisfaction and financial targets.
- 7Generate sales by expanding existing client revenue and leading prospecting efforts for new clients.
- 8Drive strategic direction and create market demand for new health and benefits products.
Requirements8
- 1BA/BS degree in business, finance, or related field.
- 210+ years of experience in designing and implementing healthcare benefits solutions.
- 3Expertise in the health & benefits field with a strong industry reputation.
- 4Client-facing consulting experience with large market employers.
- 5Valid Life & Health License.
- 6Strong sales and marketing skills to effectively present Mercer value.
- 7Superior analytical skills in financial analysis and strategy.
- 8Proven management skills leading large, complex projects.
