Senior Relationship Manager, Voluntary Benefits Consulting
Overview
You will own the sales and retention strategy for a large to mid-sized book of voluntary benefits accounts, driving growth and client satisfaction. You will collaborate with Mercer's Voluntary Benefits team, delivering customized solutions for nuanced client needs. This role offers direct engagement with C-suite executives and leadership in a hybrid work model.
What You'll Do8
- 1Maintain and expand a large to mid-sized book of business with larger or nuanced accounts across industries, contributing to sales for complex accounts owned by senior colleagues.
- 2Develop sales and retention strategies for client accounts, leveraging deep understanding of client needs and market trends.
- 3Conduct robust client analyses to create customized product and solution recommendations using Voluntary Benefits knowledge.
- 4Resolve escalated issues promptly, ensuring relationships remain positive and deliverables meet promised timelines.
- 5Build and nourish relationships and professional networks within client organizations to secure retention and growth.
- 6Attend industry events and conferences to maintain market proximity and represent Mercer.
- 7Embrace AI and technology-enabled tools to enhance effectiveness and delivery.
- 8Drive results for clients through proactive communication and strategic advice, ensuring high satisfaction.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's Degree required.
- 25+ years experience as a Consultant with client management or sales in the large client segment.
- 3Proven voluntary benefits subject matter expertise, covering supplemental health, ID theft protection, legal, auto/home, discount, purchasing programs, pet insurance, and life with LTC.
- 4Strong financial and business acumen to understand client profitability and market dynamics.
- 5Current Life/Health License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- 6Excellent collaboration and team-focused skills, fostering relationships with Mercer Health & Benefits colleagues.
- 7Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment and meet deadlines.
- 8Demonstrated success working with C-Suite Executives is a plus.
