Senior Elevator & Escalator Inspector
Overview
You will lead testing and commissioning for elevator and escalator systems across multiple active projects in the New York metropolitan area. With 10+ years of construction inspection and 5+ years of testing and commissioning experience, you will ensure installations meet Owner Project Requirements. You will coordinate with contractors, design teams, and agency representatives while managing documentation from pre-functional inspections to final reports. What You'll Do8
- 1Lead testing and commissioning activities for elevator and escalator systems from planning through closeout.
- 2Perform pre-functional inspections, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing, including pre-ASME testing.
- 3Coordinate with contractors, design teams, facility owners, and agency representatives to align on project requirements.
- 4Review submittals, O&M manuals, and training documentation to ensure compliance with specifications.
- 5Manage commissioning documentation, including checklists, test reports, and issue tracking logs.
- 6Prepare final commissioning reports summarizing system performance and compliance.
- 7Utilize project management tools including Facility Grid, Procore, and Unifier to track progress and documentation.
- 8Support multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements9
- 15+ years of testing and commissioning experience specifically for elevator and escalator systems.
- 210+ years of construction inspection experience.
- 3Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (additional 5 years of experience may substitute).
- 4NAESA Qualified - Certified Elevator Inspector (QEI) required.
- 5OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred.
- 6Strong understanding of vertical transportation systems and commissioning processes.
- 7Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
- 8Ability to walk active construction sites, climb ladders, and access mechanical and electrical equipment rooms.
- 9Local travel between project sites in the New York metropolitan area required; occasional night or weekend work for system shutdowns.
Salary Insight
$125 - $165k per year
