What You'll Do8

  • 1Perform special inspections on active sites per approved plans and NYC Building Code.
  • 2Inspect structural work and document compliance, flagging any deficiencies.
  • 3Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate daily records.
  • 4Review construction drawings and specs to determine inspection points.
  • 5Communicate findings to contractors and engineers on-site.
  • 6Coordinate with project engineers on field conditions and results.
  • 7Maintain FE certification and stay current with NYC DOB requirements.
  • 8Travel to sites across the NYC metropolitan area.

Requirements10

  • 1E.I.T/FE certification required.
  • 2Field experience performing inspections on construction sites.
  • 3ICC certifications in applicable disciplines strongly preferred.
  • 4Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
  • 5Knowledge of NYC Building Code and NYC DOB standards.
  • 6Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • 7Strong grasp of structural construction and materials.
  • 8Detail-oriented with excellent documentation habits.
  • 9Professional communication and independent work skills.
  • 10Reliable transportation for site travel; OSHA 30 preferred.
