Senior Business Analyst Data Integration CoStar
Overview
You will own the API integrations that move CRE data into CoStar Debt Solutions, a platform where credit officers, data pipelines, and AI agents share one data model. You will design and operate bidirectional REST and GraphQL APIs for bank loan books, property feeds, and CMBS data, managing each connection as a customer relationship. Your work spans scoping, credentialing, and reliability, with a path to agent-callable surfaces in year two. This role stands out because each integration is both a technical pipeline and a trust-building relationship with customer IT teams.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and own the API integrations that land customer data into the platform, including core banking exports, property data feeds, and borrower-supplied rent rolls, with every write path typed to the shared data model.
- 2Design outbound API integrations that export enriched records, derived metrics, and scenario outputs back to customer systems, ensuring the round trip earns customer trust.
- 3Drive the customer-facing lifecycle: scope with customer IT, handle credentialing and cutover, and act as the named contact when pipelines misbehave.
- 4Ship reliability features: error handling, idempotency, replays, retry semantics, and auth refresh to keep integrations stable.
- 5Make mapping decisions that balance source-system fields with the platform model, deciding when fuzzy address matches pass and what gets logged for review.
- 6Monitor and maintain every active API connection, coordinating with customer IT on version upgrades, credential rotations, and schema drifts.
- 7Evolve select pipeline integrations into agent-callable surfaces, defining which writes remain pipeline-only and which become tools agents can invoke.
- 8Write scripts in Python or Node to glue, transform, and validate data, knowing when a one-off script should become a pipeline.
Requirements8
- 17+ years building and operating production API integrations in both directions, including REST, GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth flows, and batch ETL.
- 2Experience managing API connections as customer-facing assets, including scoping with customer IT, passing security reviews, and being the named contact for incidents.
- 3Comfort writing scripts in Python, Node, or equivalent to glue, transform, and validate data, with the ability to read code and ship working integrations end to end.
- 4Working understanding of why typed data models matter and why production-grade integrations require more than moving rows from A to B.
- 5Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college.
- 6Track record of commitment to prior employers.
- 7Familiarity with CRE data sources like FIS, CoStar, Intex, Yardi, or MRI is a plus, not a requirement.
- 8Curiosity about LLM agents and the interface between agents and the systems they call, with interest in what an agent needs from an integration that a pipeline doesn't.
