Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting, Public Company & SEC Reporting
Overview
Technical accounting professional will own complex accounting issues for a well-established energy company at scale. Work with the Technical Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams across finance, legal, regulatory, and operations. This role is two steps from management and suits someone from Big-4 or large regional firms seeking broad exposure to accounting, reporting, and operational challenges. The position is onsite in Portland with some scheduling flexibility, and offers a comprehensive benefits package and bonus potential.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead technical accounting research under U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements and document conclusions
- 2Review contracts and regulatory matters to determine appropriate accounting treatment and prepare technical memos
- 3Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting including 10-Q and 10-K filings
- 4Assist with financial statement disclosures and analysis to improve transparency
- 5Evaluate new accounting pronouncements and update accounting policies as needed
- 6Support quarterly internal controls and variance analysis
- 7Collaborate with finance, accounting, legal, regulatory, and operations teams on time-sensitive issues
- 8Provide technical accounting guidance on complex issues to internal and external stakeholders
- 9Support external audit requests and ad hoc reporting needs
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 2Strong technical accounting experience across areas
- 3Big 4 or large regional public accounting experience
- 4Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- 5Experience with technical accounting research, contract reviews, and accounting conclusions
- 6CPA preferred
- 7Utility or regulatory accounting experience a plus

$100 - $140k per year
