Financial Reporting Manager, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting
Overview
As Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting, you will own LRE's external reporting cycle for our 4 GW utility-scale wind, solar, and storage portfolio. You will lead preparation of financial statements and footnotes under U.S. GAAP, manage audit deliverables, and serve as the go-to expert on complex consolidations and equity method investments. Partnering with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and Legal, you will drive a controlled, audit-ready environment and implement new FASB standards. This role offers the chance to shape scalable reporting processes at a growing renewable energy company, with a hybrid schedule of three days on-site in Dallas.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead quarterly and annual external reporting, including financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and supporting schedules, ensuring U.S. GAAP and lender compliance.
- 2Coordinate with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Operations to produce complete, accurate, and well-supported reporting packages.
- 3Own audit deliverables by coordinating with external auditors, resolving questions, and maintaining organized, audit-ready documentation.
- 4Research complex accounting matters, draft technical memoranda, and conclude on treatment for consolidations, equity investments, and debt arrangements.
- 5Implement new FASB accounting standards updates and assess their impact on financial statements and processes.
- 6Drive process improvements to strengthen reporting timelines, documentation standards, and review controls across the team.
- 7Review consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, and equity accounting during monthly and quarterly closes.
- 8Support special projects and ad hoc analyses related to operating results and entity activities.
Requirements10
- 1CPA required; 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or financial reporting.
- 2Bachelor's degree in accounting; Master's degree preferred.
- 3Advanced U.S. GAAP knowledge with demonstrated experience researching and documenting technical accounting conclusions.
- 4Experience in public company, SEC reporting, or complex private-company environments.
- 5Strong background in consolidations, intercompany transactions, equity method accounting, and business combinations.
- 6Proven ability to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines with complete, accurate deliverables.
- 7Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex accounting to non-accounting stakeholders.
- 8Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and strong attention to detail.
- 9Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Office 365, and Workiva preferred.
- 10Prior people management or project leadership experience preferred.
