Senior Accountant – Operational Finance
Overview
Senior Accountant leads finance team supporting accounting reporting payroll cash management and process improvement. Provides exposure beyond transactional roles and collaborates with CFO and leaders.
What You'll Do12
- 1Support monthly and year-end close including journal entries accruals and reconciliations
- 2Analyze general ledger activity and investigate unusual transactions variances and reconciliation differences
- 3Assist with financial and management reporting budget-to-actual analysis and departmental reporting
- 4Support payroll processing reconciliations employee changes benefits deductions and administrative requirements
- 5Manage and reconcile cash banking accounts receivable revenue and other balance sheet activity
- 6Prepare schedules and documentation for annual financial statement audit and year-end reporting
- 7Provide backup support for accounts payable and other finance functions
- 8Partner with operational leaders to research financial issues and provide practical solutions
- 9Help strengthen internal controls documentation workflows and accounting procedures
- 10Participate in financial system improvements automation and integration initiatives
- 11Identify opportunities to improve reporting reduce manual processes and provide better financial information to leadership
- 12Support special projects and additional financial analysis for the CFO
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance Business or related field
- 23+ years progressive accounting or financial operations experience
- 35+ years preferred
- 4Strong knowledge of GAAP general ledger accounting reconciliations and month-end close
- 5Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills
- 6Experience with payroll nonprofit accounting ERP systems grants or restricted funds
- 7CPA or CPA candidate is a plus
- 8Analytical organizational communication and problem-solving skills
Salary Insight
$70 - $95k per year
