Overview
The Senior Accountant will own accounting management information at Chicago Family Health Center Inc. This role involves developing manual and automated accounting applications leading month-end close activities and reconciling general ledger and liability accounts. You will partner with the Corporate Controller to ensure accuracy and drive financial reporting excellence.
What You'll Do11
- 1Participate in month-end close activities including preparation of monthly journal entries and review of allocations and estimates
- 2Assist in preparing monthly internal financial statements and related reports
- 3Maintain federal ledger by preparing financial schedules and writing journal entries for interest income and prepaid insurance
- 4Maintain chart of accounts and amortization schedules for mortgages
- 5Assist independent auditors with year-end audits and verify report accuracy
- 6Prepare required audit work and reports
- 7Maintain monthly bank reconciliations
- 8Develop and implement automated accounting solutions using Python and AWS
- 9Drive optimization of financial processes through Kubernetes integration
- 10Scale financial reporting frameworks across multiple departments
- 11Unify data landscapes using React for better visualization
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance or related field
- 2Minimum of five years experience in accounting
- 3Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations
- 4Proficiency with computer information systems and spreadsheets
- 5Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- 6Detail-oriented and highly organized
- 7Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- 8Strong communication and business acumen
- 9Experience handling diverse populations preferred
- 10Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Kubernetes
