Overview

You will own physical security operations at Moody Center, a 15,000+ seat arena hosting major concerts and University of Texas basketball, protecting guests, staff, and assets. You will report to the Senior Security Manager and collaborate with venue leadership, law enforcement, and event staff. This role drives emergency preparedness, technology systems, and incident response in a dynamic live entertainment environment. You will implement security programs, manage credentialing, and lead a team to ensure world-class safety standards.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Build and oversee strategic safety plans for events, coordinating with tour personnel and briefing stakeholders.
  • 2Manage event security operations, including staff scheduling and on-site incident command.
  • 3Collaborate with Best Crowd Management to execute professional crowd control.
  • 4Oversee incident reporting, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.
  • 5Communicate professionally with clients and stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.
  • 6Develop a comprehensive safety platform covering employees, vendors, artists, and patrons.
  • 7Implement security programs and technology systems like Genetec and ISS 24/7 to protect assets and people.
  • 8Maintain liaison with Austin Police, Fire, UT Police, and federal agencies for coordinated response.
  • 9Deliver compliance and effectiveness reports to the Director of Security.
  • 10Lead training for disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk assessments.
  • 11Manage venue key systems and credentialing processes efficiently.

Requirements11

  • 13-5 years in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or private security with supervisory experience.
  • 2Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred.
  • 3Experience implementing emergency evacuation plans, policies, and procedures.
  • 4Live entertainment venue experience preferred.
  • 5Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability.
  • 6Adaptable and effective under pressure.
  • 7Strong verbal and written communication, including presentation skills.
  • 8Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees.
  • 9High personal integrity and organizational focus.
  • 10Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CCTV, and access control systems.
  • 11Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
