Maintenance Worker, Arena Facility Operations
Overview
You will own the day-to-day upkeep of Moody Center, a 15,000+ seat arena hosting top concerts and University of Texas basketball. You'll handle repairs, drywall, painting, and preventative maintenance across the venue, reporting through the 24/7 Work Order System. What You'll Do8
- 1Complete work orders in the 24/7 Work Order System, logging all repairs and compiling reports.
- 2Repair and repaint interior and exterior walls, including drywall patching and sanding.
- 3Operate company vehicles and light equipment like pallet jacks, forklifts, and scrubbing machines.
- 4Serve as lead maintenance representative during assigned events, coordinating with clients and staff.
- 5Maintain door hardware, locks, key machines, and door closers to ensure security and functionality.
- 6Perform routine inspections of mechanical and electrical systems, reporting issues to management.
- 7Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays to support event schedules.
- 8Train new staff on safety procedures and equipment use as needed.
Requirements9
- 12-3+ years full-time maintenance experience in a facility, with arena or convention center experience preferred.
- 2High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- 3Proficiency with power tools and hand tools for repairs.
- 4Valid Driver's License and ability to operate light trucks and power-driven equipment.
- 5Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems for facility operations.
- 6Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- 7Familiarity with event-related services and industry terminology.
- 8Certification in CPR or First Aid is a plus.
- 9Basic computer skills for Microsoft Office and work order entry.
