Overview
You own complex patient scheduling and care coordination across multiple disciplines at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, managing 50+ appointments per day. You navigate Cadence, Optime, Aria, and Ambra to schedule surgeries, procedures, and tests while ensuring accurate insurance and demographic data. You train new staff and support access management in a high-volume revenue cycle. This role demands advanced multi-system proficiency and clear communication with patients and clinical teams.
What You'll Do9
- 1Schedule surgeries, procedures, and admissions using Cadence, Optime, and Aria within the first 90 days.
- 2Coordinate pre-surgical consults, cardiac clearance, and treatment planning across multiple service lines.
- 3Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-certification through payor platforms.
- 4Perform full registration duties when needed, including demographic and insurance data entry.
- 5Communicate complex medical information to patients and families clearly and concisely.
- 6Manage IHIS work queues, encounters, and inbaskets to resolve scheduling conflicts.
- 7Assist the Lead with training new staff and student interns on scheduling workflows.
- 8Optimize imaging scheduling using Ambra to reduce wait times.
- 9Document all interactions in Cadence and IHIS for accurate billing and reporting.
Requirements7
- 12+ years in patient access or similar healthcare setting.
- 2High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- 34-6 years of experience in revenue cycle or customer service preferred.
- 4Experience with Cadence, Optime, Aria, and Ambra preferred.
- 5Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office for data entry and reporting.
- 6Strong problem-solving and customer service skills in a high-volume environment.
- 7Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical setting.
