Overview
You will own daily operations of a satellite kitchen at Early College Academy, serving students and staff. You will open and close the facility, ensure equipment works, and manage food inventory. Working under the Food Services Director, you will lead student helpers and coordinate food delivery. This role requires ServSafe certification and the ability to adapt in emergencies.
What You'll Do9
- 1Open and close the satellite kitchen, checking all appliances and equipment for proper working condition.
- 2Maintain records for the food program, including daily production logs and accurate inventory of supplies and foods.
- 3Keep the facility clean and orderly, ensuring adequate stock with proper rotation.
- 4Communicate supply and food needs to the supervising Food Services Director in a timely manner.
- 5Set up a clean, orderly, and attractive food service area for serving students and staff.
- 6Prepare bank deposits for monies collected, bundling bills, rolling coins, stamping checks, and filling out deposit slips.
- 7Review applications for the free/reduced meal program, checking accuracy and determining eligibility.
- 8Prepare and deliver lunches, keeping hot foods hot and cold foods cold, and dishing up individual portions.
- 9Sell lunch tickets and call in the daily lunch count to the main kitchen facility.
Requirements8
- 1ServSafe certificate required or ability to pass examination and maintain.
- 21+ year experience in quantity food preparation, serving, and storage.
- 3Knowledge of proper sanitation and safety procedures for institutional food service.
- 4Ability to safely operate food preparation and serving equipment.
- 5Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations and make change accurately.
- 6Ability to read and write in English at a sufficient level for required duties.
- 7Ability to direct the work of student helpers and assigned personnel.
- 8Ability to meet physical requirements for lifting and standing during shifts.
