Sales Manager, Seafood Industry
Overview
You will own the full sales cycle for a seafood branch, driving revenue growth and profitability in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role oversees a sales team, manages key accounts, and executes strategic account plans, with a focus on seafood industry expertise. You will report to the Vice President, leading a team of Account Executives and inside sales reps, with direct responsibility for hiring, training, and performance management. This is an onsite role in Union City, CA, offering a base salary plus commission. You will shape sales strategy, optimize processes, and ensure the sales pipeline remains full of qualified leads.
What You'll Do9
- 1Manage end-to-end sales cycles for the branch, from lead generation to close, targeting 3-5 seasons of growth.
- 2Build a high-performing inside sales team that exceeds quota, using CRM data to track daily dial goals.
- 3Train and coach Account Executives on seafood products and sales techniques, ensuring team readiness.
- 4Develop strategic account plans for key customers, leveraging Excel to track margins and performance.
- 5Monitor sales metrics, budgets, and expenses, reporting trends to the Vice President.
- 6Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, using PowerPoint for presentations.
- 7Collaborate with operations and marketing to align on promotions and inventory, using Teams for daily communication.
- 8Lead weekly staff meetings to align on goals, solve problems, and improve processes.
- 9Drive continuous improvement in sales admin, using Outlook for calendar and email management.
Requirements9
- 13+ years in the food industry, with seafood experience mandatory.
- 23+ years directly managing a sales team, with a track record of hitting targets.
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
- 4Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to clients and executives.
- 5Strong organizational skills, with acute attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- 6Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, with a data-driven approach.
- 7Professional appearance and demeanor, with ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- 8Strong interpersonal skills, committed to working with cross-functional teams.
- 9Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field; bilingual is a plus.
