Overview
Lead the Perioperative Services team at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie as the RN OR Manager. You will own the operating room operations, including staffing, budgets, and quality initiatives, during a period of expansion with three new OR suites and two new surgeons. What You'll Do8
- 1Establish and communicate the vision for nursing practices within the unit, aligning with department goals and hospital standards.
- 2Collaborate with supervisors and nursing staff to achieve team objectives, fostering a positive work environment and effective communication.
- 3Develop and implement policies and procedures that support best practices, compliance with regulations, and patient safety.
- 4Oversee budget and resources, monitoring financial performance and ensuring efficient use of supplies and equipment.
- 5Manage quality improvement initiatives, tracking outcomes and implementing changes to enhance patient care and staff performance.
- 6Facilitate professional development of team members, coaching clinical skills and leadership capabilities.
- 7Serve on governance councils and participate in strategic planning to support hospital and department goals.
- 8Stay current on nursing research and best practices, applying evidence-based care models to improve unit operations.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of prior experience in a relevant nursing role, with Operating Room experience required.
- 2Current RN license in the state of Texas.
- 3Leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.
- 4BLS certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- 5Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- 6Strong communication and collaboration skills to lead and develop teams.
- 7Knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care standards, and regulatory requirements.
- 8Proficiency in basic computer skills, including office software and electronic health records.
