Overview
We seek an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN OR) to provide professional nursing care in a high-volume Houston facility. The ideal candidate will support complex surgeries and maintain a safe sterile environment.
What You'll Do11
- 1Provide professional nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process
- 2Serve as both a scrub and circulating RN supporting surgical procedures
- 3Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- 4Perform comprehensive nursing assessments before during and after surgical procedures
- 5Prepare operating rooms and equipment according to procedure requirements
- 6Maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention standards
- 7Support general surgery orthopedics neurosurgery and robotic surgical procedures
- 8Document patient care accurately in Epic electronic medical records
- 9Demonstrate effective charge nurse skills coordinating workflow and supporting staff
- 10Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with physicians
- 11Respond appropriately to urgent clinical situations within the operating room
Requirements10
- 1Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- 2Minimum 5 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience
- 3Scrub and circulating RN experience required
- 4Previous charge nurse experience required
- 5Strong Neurosurgery/Neuro OR experience required
- 6Experience with general surgery and general orthopedics required
- 7Robotic surgery experience preferred
- 8Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record charting
- 9Knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique
- 10Excellent communication critical thinking and teamwork skills
