Overview

The Revenue Manager will own ASC 606 revenue recognition for complex AV integration and data center construction projects at scale. You will partner with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance leadership in person to drive accurate monthly and quarterly revenue, WIP, and margins. This role combines construction accounting expertise with team leadership to improve reporting processes and cross-department collaboration.

What You'll Do13

  • 1Own the month-end and quarter-end revenue recognition process for AV integration and data center construction projects ensuring ASC 606 compliance and POC accounting across portfolios
  • 2Lead forecasting of job costs by coordinating with Project Managers to update estimates-to-complete and identify cost trends impacting revenue and margin
  • 3Manage and develop a growing team of Project Accountants to ensure accurate job cost tracking timely revenue entries and alignment with project-level accounting
  • 4Prepare and analyze WIP schedules identify over/under billings and reconcile to the general ledger
  • 5Review and approve project-level revenue entries change orders and contract modifications for proper accounting treatment
  • 6Monitor project profitability flag variances cost overruns or delays that may affect revenue recognition
  • 7Collaborate with the billing/PA team to ensure invoicing aligns with contract terms and revenue recognized
  • 8Support the Financial Controller in month-end close including journal entries reconciliations and variance analysis related to revenue
  • 9Assist with revenue-related audit schedules and support external auditors during annual audits and reviews
  • 10Develop and maintain internal controls documentation related to revenue recognition policies and procedures
  • 11Identify opportunities to improve revenue reporting processes WIP reporting accuracy and cross-departmental communication
  • 12Provide ad hoc revenue analysis and reporting to Finance leadership as needed
  • 13Assist with training and mentoring of junior accounting staff on revenue-related processes

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or related field
  • 27+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with significant exposure to construction engineering or project-based revenue recognition
  • 32-3+ years of supervising/managing experience
  • 4Strong working knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting and ASC 606
  • 5Experience preparing and analyzing WIP schedules
  • 6Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables VLOOKUP XLOOKUP financial modeling)
  • 7Strong analytical organizational and communication skills
  • 8Experience forecasting job costs and estimates-to-complete on active projects
  • 9Ability to collaborate effectively with and guide a team of Project Accountants
  • 10Ability to work in-person full-time at the Rockville MD office
