Accounting Manager, Remote DC Area Fintech
Overview
Own the full accounting cycle for a scaling fintech serving construction, managing GAAP reporting, AP/AR, treasury, and multi-entity close across QuickBooks Online and NetSuite. Supervise a small team and partner with finance and executive leadership to drive margin visibility and cash flow decisions. This fully remote role requires DC metro residency and occasional in-person meetings, offering direct exposure to leadership and equity opportunity.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead the monthly and year-end close process, delivering accurate financial statements under GAAP within tight deadlines.
- 2Oversee AP, AR, billing, collections, and general ledger reconciliations across multiple entities and product lines.
- 3Prepare monthly management reports covering margins, product profitability, expenses, and cash flow for leadership.
- 4Manage daily treasury operations, including cash positioning, liquidity planning, and intercompany cash movements.
- 5Support capital management across debt facilities and special-purpose vehicles, coordinating lender and investor reporting.
- 6Drive cash forecasting and working-capital management to guide budgeting and capital-deployment decisions.
- 7Improve accounting systems, internal controls, and workflows using QuickBooks Online and NetSuite to scale operations.
- 8Supervise accounting staff, coordinate AP/AR work, and mentor team members to build a high-performing function.
- 9Coordinate audits, tax compliance, and borrowing-base calculations to ensure regulatory and lender alignment.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 24+ years of progressive accounting experience, including close processes and financial reporting.
- 3Strong GAAP knowledge and hands-on experience with reconciliations, AP, AR, billing, and collections.
- 4Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with QuickBooks Online or NetSuite.
- 5Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
- 6Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
- 7Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 8Preferred: construction, fintech, or multi-entity accounting experience, plus CPA or CPA candidacy.
