Accounting Manager, Payroll & GAAP
Overview
Lead full-cycle accounting operations, including AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger, for a hands-on role at a Phoenix-based firm. You will own monthly and yearly close, cash flow monitoring, and P&L reporting that guides leadership decisions. The team relies on you to ensure compliance and audit readiness. What You'll Do9
- 1Own day-to-day accounting functions: AP, AR, Payroll, General Ledger, and monthly/yearly close.
- 2Monitor cash flow and liquidity to keep operations running smoothly.
- 3Prepare and review P&L statements to give leadership clear financial insight.
- 4Ensure compliance with regulations, contracts, and internal policies.
- 5Lead audits and strengthen internal controls across all financial processes.
- 6Maintain organized documentation and accurate records for every transaction.
- 7Improve accounting workflows with Sage, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems.
- 8Collaborate with team members to explain complex financial topics clearly.
- 9Support daily close activities and reconcile accounts to meet deadlines.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 25+ years progressive accounting experience, ideally in a service-oriented or regulated industry.
- 3Hands-on experience with audits and implementing internal control systems.
- 4Strong knowledge of GAAP and compliance best practices.
- 5Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting software such as Sage or QuickBooks.
- 6Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
