What You'll Do9
- 1Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator and postdoctoral fellow to conceptualize and refine experiments on brain-body interactions
- 2Learn and implement new techniques such as stereotaxic manipulations and viral systems for chemogenetics and optogenetics
- 3Lead bench-side validation of experiments including brain and tissue harvesting and immunostaining
- 4Perform routine molecular and cellular biology techniques like DNA/RNA isolation and PCR
- 5Assist with mouse colony management including breeding and genotyping
- 6Collect and maintain accurate experimental data and laboratory records
- 7Support laboratory organization and reagent preparation
- 8Participate in meetings and contribute to a collaborative research environment
- 9Develop new experimental capabilities and establish the lab’s future growth foundation
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with two years
- 2Experience with mouse work or colony management
- 3Research experience in neuroscience immunology or cancer biology
- 4Commitment of at least two years before pursuing another role in science or medicine
- 5Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
