Registered Nurse (RN) Overnight Shift - Skilled Nursing
Overview
As the RN Charge Nurse on the overnight shift, you own resident care quality and safety for the entire unit. You assess, medicate, and document for a skilled nursing population, ensuring each resident's physical and mental well-being. You coordinate with aides, physicians, and families, acting as the clinical leader during night hours. This role offers direct involvement in care decisions and a chance to make an immediate impact in a facility that values clinical excellence.
What You'll Do10
- 1Conduct rounds to observe, assess, document, and report resident condition changes
- 2Implement and update individual care plans as directed
- 3Administer medications as prescribed and accurately document
- 4Perform narcotic reconciliation with incoming and outgoing shifts
- 5Identify and respond to significant changes in resident condition per facility protocol
- 6Oversee and monitor nursing aides to ensure quality care delivery
- 7Initiate and complete Incident and Accident Reports per facility policy
- 8Discharge residents per facility policy and complete all required documentation
- 9Complete a Nursing Assessment for every physician call regarding a change in condition
- 10Communicate status updates to resident points of contact as needed
Requirements8
- 1RN program completion from an accredited vocational school, college, or university
- 2Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas in good standing
- 3Experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred
- 41+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting
- 5Current CPR certification
- 6Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends as scheduled
- 7Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- 8Proficiency in electronic health records and medication administration
