Overview
The Registered Nurse will provide daily leadership and oversight for LPNs and nursing assistants while ensuring high standards of care. This role involves direct patient interaction and collaboration with the Director of Nursing to address assessment findings and resident needs. What You'll Do7
- 1Provide routine daily direction and monitor the work of LPNs and nursing assistants on the unit, assuring a high standard of nursing care and satisfactory completion of tasks
- 2Assist in the orientation of new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards to maintain a high quality of care
- 3Motivate LPNs and CNAs assigned to the nursing unit
- 4Explain nursing procedures and assist staff to ensure ongoing understanding and training
- 5Communicate regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding assessments observations and suggestions of problem areas resident and employee activities concerns needs conditions
- 6Observe and evaluate residents health mental and emotional conditions and report significant changes to appropriate staff
- 7Notify physicians and family members when indicated according to prescribed procedures
Requirements9
- 1Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- 2Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State
- 3One year nursing experience
- 4Devotion to professional nursing standards and principles
- 5Strong assessment planning and evaluation skills for LPNs CNAs and resident needs
- 6Patience tact and excellent written verbal communication skills in English
- 7Genuine compassion for senior adults and the disabled
- 8Ability to monitor and direct others activities
- 9Flexibility to work beyond normal hours and on weekends holidays
Salary Insight
