Overview
You will own the full estimating cycle for fabricated reinforcing bar, wire mesh, and accessories, supporting bids across multiple projects at our Olathe, KS branch. You will read structural drawings, perform take-offs, and deliver accurate quotes to customers. You will coordinate with the Fabrication Coordinator to align schedules and delivery timelines. This role demands precision in a deadline-driven environment, where your estimates directly impact project success.
What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare estimates of fabricated reinforcing bar, wire mesh, and accessories for bid packages.
- 2Perform take-offs from structural drawings to determine material quantities.
- 3Confirm quotes, quantities, customer needs, fabrication timelines, and delivery schedules.
- 4Communicate professionally with customers and team members to ensure clarity.
- 5Maintain a bid calendar and job file for tracking and communication.
- 6Ensure estimating accuracy and keep all parties informed of schedule changes.
- 7Coordinate with the Fabrication Coordinator to align production and delivery.
- 8Meet tight deadlines while handling multiple estimate requests simultaneously.
Requirements9
- 13+ years in construction, steel, or reinforcing industries.
- 2Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
