Overview
You will own reinforcing steel placement on commercial construction sites across Nashville, handling rebar installation with fall protection and welding equipment. You join a 100+ year old concrete contractor with a crew of 90+ field workers, engineers, and project managers. You work outdoors in all weather, at heights, and on narrow surfaces, with daily lifting up to 75 lbs. What You'll Do8
- 1Place rebar mats and cages per engineered drawings using tie wire, rebar cutters, and benders.
- 2Weld and cut rebar with oxy-acetylene torch and arc welder to secure connections.
- 3Climb and balance on wall forms, scaffolding, and ladders while carrying rebar lengths up to 75 lbs.
- 4Tie rebar intersections with pliers and rebar tying tools to maintain structural integrity.
- 5Inspect rebar placement for compliance with ACI standards and project specs.
- 6Communicate with foreman and crew to align on daily placement priorities.
- 7Follow OSHA and company safety protocols including fall protection and harness use.
- 8Maintain tools and equipment, reporting any damage or wear to supervisor.
Requirements8
- 11+ year of rodbuster or rebar placement experience in commercial construction.
- 2Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull 75 lbs and stand/walk for full shifts outdoors.
- 3Excellent balance and comfort working at heights on rebar mats and wall forms.
- 4Proficiency with rebar tying, cutting torch, and welding equipment.
- 5Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- 6Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- 7High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 8OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety certification a plus.
