Overview

Own the end-to-end support for sophisticated commercial real estate transactions within a dynamic legal team in Detroit Southfield. You will coordinate due diligence, prepare closing materials, and track critical dates to enable smooth closings. This role emphasizes client service, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with title companies, surveyors, clients, and attorneys, contributing to complex acquisitions, dispositions, and financing.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Build and manage due diligence checklists and closing binders to ensure accurate, timely closings.
  • 2Review title commitments, surveys, and zoning docs to identify issues and coordinate resolutions with stakeholders.
  • 3Prepare deeds, amendments, ancillary documents, and acquisition/sale packages.
  • 4Abstract contracts and monitor critical dates, obligations, and deadlines across transactions.
  • 5Draft and revise closing statements, documents, and pro formas with precision.
  • 6Coordinate with title companies, surveyors, clients, and attorneys to resolve title and survey issues.
  • 7Assist with commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and closings.
  • 8Organize and maintain document repositories using iManage or FileSite and ensure version control.
  • 9Support multiple transactions simultaneously while delivering high-quality client service.

Requirements5

  • 1Bachelor's degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • 2Minimum of 5+ years of commercial real estate paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm
  • 3Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, and DocuSign
  • 4Experience supporting commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and due diligence matters
  • 5Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication
