Overview
You will lead complex real estate transactions for a Fortune 500 homebuilder, managing land acquisition, development, title, and closing matters from contract to post-closing. Working with in-house counsel and business teams, you will coordinate approvals, maintain critical documentation, and drive deals forward across multiple divisions. Your expertise in title and due diligence will directly impact high-stakes projects. What You'll Do9
- 1Lead transaction-focused legal support for land acquisition, development, title, and entitlement matters, preparing analyses and summaries for attorney decisions.
- 2Draft and manage purchase agreements, amendments, easements, escrow documents, and closing deliverables, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- 3Coordinate end-to-end execution of major real estate deals, managing timelines, approvals, and documentation from contract through closing.
- 4Oversee due diligence by reviewing and summarizing title commitments, surveys, plats, HOA/CC&R documents, and related materials.
- 5Maintain matter-management systems, including deal files and closing binders, to ensure documentation integrity and internal controls.
- 6Partner with Deputy and Associate General Counsels and business leadership to identify risks and support legal strategies.
- 7Serve as a subject-matter expert on real estate transactions, guiding teams on due diligence standards and closing requirements.
- 8Mentor paralegal and administrative staff, reinforcing standards and supporting skill development.
- 9Contribute to process improvements, including templates and workflow enhancements for efficiency and risk management.
Requirements10
- 110+ years of paralegal experience with substantial real estate transactions, land acquisition, title, or development.
- 2Paralegal certificate, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or comparable experience.
- 3Experience reviewing title commitments, surveys, easements, entity documents, and closing documentation.
- 4Homebuilding, residential development, title, land banking, or in-house legal support experience preferred.
- 5Experience with HOA/CC&R documents, easements, and internal approval processes preferred.
- 6Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- 7Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- 8Impeccable organizational, time management, attention to detail, and proofreading skills.
- 9Self-starter able to independently resolve issues with judgment and discretion.
- 10Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision and maintain poise under pressure.
Salary Insight
