Quality Manager, Fiber Optic Cable Manufacturing
Overview
Own the full quality management system for a fiber optic cable manufacturing site with under 20 employees. You will ensure compliance with ISO 9001, OSHA, and IEC standards while driving continuous improvement. Collaborate with a tight-knit team on process control and product testing, including OTDR and water penetration tests. What You'll Do8
- 1Develop and maintain the QMS to meet ISO 9001, OSHA, and IEC standards.
- 2Run product testing for fiber length, OTDR, and water penetration.
- 3Conduct regular quality audits, including UL follow-up audits, and track inspection cost performance.
- 4Oversee inspection protocols and testing procedures to ensure product integrity.
- 5Lead root cause analysis for non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- 6Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project management to boost product quality.
- 7Train and mentor staff on quality assurance practices to foster continuous improvement.
- 8Prepare reports on quality metrics, trends, and performance indicators for management.
Requirements8
- 15+ years in a Quality Manager role in manufacturing, ideally fiber optic cables.
- 2Deep knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OSHA, and other relevant standards.
- 3Experience with quality audits, including UL follow-up audits, and inspection processes.
- 4Proven project management skills with leadership ability.
- 5Analytical skills with attention to detail.
- 6Strong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 8Spanish language skills preferred.
