Quality Manager, Electronics Manufacturing & ISO 9000
Overview
You will own the quality management system (QMS) at Sanmina Energy's Houston facility, a $14B global electronics manufacturer with 35,000+ employees. You will lead a QA team, drive compliance to ISO 9000, and reduce quality escapes across complex electro-mechanical assemblies. Working alongside product engineering and precision machining, you will champion Lean and Six Sigma principles. This role reports to plant leadership and directly influences customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead and mentor the QA team to deliver first-pass yield and scrap targets.
- 2Communicate quality escapes, visits, and escalations to customers with clarity.
- 3Maintain and improve the site QMS, including NCR, CAPA system, internal audits, and training.
- 4Ensure QMS compliance with ISO 9000 and upcoming site/customer certifications.
- 5Drive quality planning for NPI and production parts using PFMEA, process flows, and control plans.
- 6Track and report quality KPIs: first pass yield, scrap, and product return rates.
- 7Manage and improve supplier quality through audits and performance reviews.
- 8Advocate Lean and Six Sigma principles and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- 9Drive cross-functional projects with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering to validate processes.
- 10Own all applicable training requirements: ESD, 5S, C-TPAT, and operations.
Requirements10
- 16+ years of quality engineering or related experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
- 2Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- 3Hands-on experience with FMEA, control plans, CAPA, RCCA, and 8D reporting.
- 4Experience with IPC workmanship standards is a plus.
- 5Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, including statistical analysis like SPC.
- 6Certified Green or Black Belt is a plus.
- 7Internal audit experience is required.
- 8Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
- 9Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 10ASQ certifications in QE, RE, or QM are a plus.
