QC Cutter Operator Job in Cerritos, CA
Overview
You will operate a powered guillotine cutter to trim printed stock and raw materials to exact customer specs for a global heat transfer manufacturer. Your work directly impacts production quality and precision, with close tolerances and strict documentation. This temp-to-hire role starts at $18–$22 per hour and offers full benefits. What You'll Do9
- 1Review production orders to verify material accuracy before trimming
- 2Determine if trimming is required before final cutting and calculate lift size for tolerance
- 3Set backstop and clamp pressure to perform cutting operations to close tolerances
- 4Maintain cutter alignment to ensure accurate square cuts
- 5Obtain supervisory approval before cutting production jobs
- 6Block, stack, feed, cut, retrieve, and re-stack sheets as needed
- 7Track production and waste records accurately, measuring and disposing of waste per procedure
- 8Inspect machine guards and follow safety compliance protocols
- 9Clean equipment and work area daily
Requirements9
- 11+ years operating a cutting machine (guillotine cutter preferred)
- 2Strong attention to detail with close-tolerance work
- 3Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- 4Ability to read and follow instructions in English
- 5Effective communication in English; bilingual Spanish a plus
- 6Stand, walk, reach, handle materials, and use hands regularly
- 7Sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed
- 8Lift up to 25 pounds regularly and 35 pounds occasionally
- 9Visual acuity for close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
