General Associate - Manufacturing & Production
Overview
You will own the cutting, counting, and bagging of orders as they come off the transfer machine at an industrial staffing company in Chicago. You will work alongside a production team, reporting directly to the production manager. You will ensure every item meets quality standards, from assembly verification to thread clipping and packaging. 60% of your shift will involve operating a Rotary Cutter and monitoring for defects. No prior experience is required, but you must have reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.
What You'll Do8
- 1Cut, count, and bag orders as they come off the transfer machine, using a Rotary Cutter for cutting tasks.
- 2Communicate with the production manager immediately upon spotting any defects or misprints in the order.
- 3Inspect every item for proper assembly and defects, clipping threads and packaging per company standards.
- 4Complete assigned orders efficiently and cleanly within each daily shift, meeting or exceeding daily quotas.
- 5Switch between cutting and Q.A. tasks as directed, maintaining speed and accuracy under production pressure.
- 6Operate the transfer machine and related equipment safely, following all safety protocols.
- 7Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of scrap material properly.
- 8Document production counts and any issues in the quality log at the end of each shift.
Requirements10
- 1No prior cutting experience required, but must be able to learn Rotary Cutter operation.
- 2Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects, misprints, or assembly errors.
- 3Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between tasks when asked.
- 4Strong sense of responsibility and reliable attendance, with reliable transportation.
- 5Must be able to sit or stand for long hours throughout the shift, depending on the assigned task.
- 6Must be able to understand process specifications and use them to complete assigned tasks.
- 7Great communication skills, speaking and reading English fluently, as worksheets are in English.
- 8Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for long periods.
- 9Must be able to work 40 hours Monday-Friday.
- 10Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
