Overview

Own the full equipment lifecycle quality chain at Prime Data Centers, from factory floor through energization and turnover to Operations. You are the objective evidence authority ensuring every OFCI asset meets approved specifications. Work alongside Procurement, Engineering, Commissioning, Construction, and the GC to drive root cause analysis and enforce accountability. This role is fundamentally about documenting findings, pursuing closure, and building traceability across a multi-billion-dollar portfolio. Join a team that strategically places quality engineers in each domestic hub, with direct exposure to hyperscale and AI/GPU data center projects.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Manage the FWT/FAT Tracker for all vendor factory visits, scheduling scope and assigning responsible parties from Procurement and Engineering.
  • 2Provide factories with current standard operating procedures and approved test scripts before visits, ensuring controlled testing and usable data.
  • 3Partner with Procurement and Engineering to conduct in-depth equipment reviews, identifying and documenting deficiencies with corrective next steps.
  • 4Document OFCI equipment findings to establish the objective evidence trail from factory to field, including asset tag data verification against approved drawings.
  • 5Ensure asset tag data matches approved RFI drawings or superseding revisions, and verify entry into the site equipment management system.
  • 6Reconcile discrepancies between tag data, submittals, and drawing revisions before they propagate into maintenance and asset management records.
  • 7Direct Root Cause Analysis using 5-Why, Fishbone, or Fault Tree for inconsistencies in GC documentation, confirming corrective action effectiveness.
  • 8Conduct pre-energization cleanliness walks and document the energization event for gear, coordinating with Construction and Commissioning for Pre-IST and Post-IST reviews.
  • 9Lead weekly Lessons Learned Follow-Up Meetings and generate material condition reports for Operations management, enforcing accountability with documented evidence.
  • 10Coordinate turnover walks with site operations and maintain material condition status with accurate ticket numbers and defined next steps.

Requirements11

  • 17+ years of QA/QC experience in mission-critical, data center, industrial, or comparable high-reliability construction environments.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent military technical training (e.g., Navy Nuclear Power Program).
  • 3Demonstrated experience in RFP review, equipment submittal review, and in-depth equipment inspection.
  • 4Working command of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) principles and documentation standards.
  • 5Direct experience witnessing factory acceptance testing of electrical and mechanical gear: switchgear, UPS, generators, transformers, switchboards, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, and valves.
  • 6Practical fluency with commissioning Levels 1–5, IST execution, and pre-energization safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • 7Proficiency with Cx Alloy or equivalent commissioning management platform; ability to become proficient in MCIM and MCAP.
  • 8Demonstrated ability to lead formal Root Cause Analysis using structured methodology (5-Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree).
  • 9Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, P&IDs, sequences of operation, control drawings, and submittal packages.
  • 10Strong command of mission-critical MEP systems: power distribution, UPSs, generators, switchgear/ATSs, chilled-water and air/liquid cooling systems, BMS/EPMS, and fire/life safety.
  • 11Willing and able to travel to project sites (domestic; international as portfolio requires).
