Senior Project Manager Electrical Engineer Data Centers
Overview
Own the full lifecycle of mission-critical data center builds from kickoff to final commissioning. You will run MEP and electrical scopes across multiple concurrent projects, driving design, construction, and testing to meet uptime targets. You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers, contractors, and vendors, reporting directly to regional leadership. This role stands out for its blend of technical depth and delivery ownership, with direct influence on plant capacity and reliability for a hyperscale portfolio.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead end-to-end delivery of data center projects, owning schedule, budget, and quality from pre-construction through commissioning.
- 2Drive electrical and MEP design reviews, ensuring compliance with NEC, ASHRAE, and internal standards.
- 3Coordinate with GCs, subcontractors, and equipment vendors to resolve field issues and keep construction on track.
- 4Oversee commissioning of critical systems, including UPS, switchgear, generators, and PDUs, to verify performance.
- 5Implement QA/QC programs to catch defects early, reducing rework and schedule risk.
- 6Manage project budgets, forecasts, and change orders, keeping spend within baseline.
- 7Foster a safety-first culture, conducting regular site walks and enforcing OSHA standards.
- 8Communicate progress to stakeholders through weekly reports and risk logs.
- 9Travel to San Antonio, TX for site visits and stakeholder meetings as needed.
Requirements9
- 110+ years managing MEP, electrical, and mission-critical projects, with 5+ years in data center delivery.
- 2PE license in electrical engineering or equivalent field experience.
- 3Proven track record of delivering projects >$50M, from design to handover.
- 4Deep knowledge of UPS, switchgear, generators, PDUs, and BMS systems.
- 5Hands-on experience with commissioning protocols and Level 4/5 testing.
- 6Strong command of MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling tools.
- 7Ability to read and interpret One-Line Diagrams, SLD, and sequence of operations.
- 8Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a bias for action.
- 9Willingness to travel up to 50% between Austin and San Antonio.
